Meg Blissell
I was raised by two engineers who were amazing creative
problem-solvers. They also both happened to be “collectors” of various useful and useless objects. I went the opposite direction—seeking order and space from the time I could make those choices.
After learning and working at numerous and varied jobs, in 1995 I was hired by a woman to help with organizing her life. That launched me on a new (yet old and familiar) path. Since then, I have added yet more careers to my resume, including working as an IATSE union member on film and TV productions, being a veterinary technician for domestic animals and wildlife, and becoming a mediator and facilitator, to name a few.
Today, I gather all of my skills and talents under the one umbrella of Space Cowgirls Organizing. Obviously, I like variety, which is one of the great things about organizing. Every client, every project, every space presents a new and unique experience and challenge.
Lisa Stuckey
Living through the depression, my parents learned to save everything. Our home was brimming with possessions and empty space was hard to come by. I embraced the collecting habit until I realized it was constricting my life.
Clearing my mother's house of 60 years worth of belongings, catalyzed my interest in helping others clear clutter and create spaces that are organized, functional and comfortable.
Today I bring 27 years of facility and project management experience and use mediator and and facilitator skills, to guide people through what can be a weighty and emotionally
daunting process.
Whether clients are downsizing, trying to organize a kitchen, going though clothes, cleaning out years of belongings or repurposing a room, I focus on each client’s particular needs, creating spaces and systems that work for them.
I love to see the relief and satisfaction people experience as their disorganized cluttered space transforms into a new sacred domain.

"I highly recommend Space Cowgirls Organizing.
If you find it hard to part with things you no longer need or use, they will gently remind you what the end result will be. Lisa and Meg are also skilled in mediation.
They helped free me from my clutter and possessiveness of “things,” which have been a stone around my neck. They helped unburden me of unfinished projects that I no longer cared about. I’m sure my children will be happy they don’t have to deal with this when I am no longer alive. Perhaps they don’t want to have all of those family heirlooms and photographs. My office/crafting room was full to the brim, which made it challenging to do my work. They helped organize it and get rid of old projects, so now I can work in a more soothing environment."

"I hired the Space Cowgirls to help with my move.
I have shelves and shelves of classic and heavy, large Art books. It was daunting to me when I realized I had to move them all. I am a ceramic artist and in addition to my home, I had to pack up my studio, full of ceramics and China.
What I received was so much more then I expected. Having moved numerous times in my life, I have always had to spend a lot of time in the directors’ chair. Lisa came in, rarely asked a question, everything was packed and organized exactly how I would have done it, plus done in a minimal amount of time.
On the receiving end of the boxes, I was amazed. It was a delight to unpack, nothing was broken and my books were organized by category making them so incredibly easy to put back on their shelves. All of the boxes were clearly marked. It was so less stressful than I had expected. Honestly, it would be worth flying them to you to pack up your home. Thank you Ladies!!"

"When I found out my house sold and the buyers wanted to move in within 2-3-4 weeks, I called Space Cowgirls Organizing.
I had an additional challenge to just clearing out a home; I was going to be traveling to 3 different places, requiring different belongings, before I would actually settle into one location again. I really had no idea how to start this project. Luckily, Lisa came over; we talked through the challenges and set a plan as to how to break down the move into manageable pieces. She helped me determine what clothes I needed to take on each trip, what to pack away in storage, what to consign, give to family, or donate. We assessed what I actually needed to keep at the house till the last moment and what could be packed.
Lisa labeled everything as she packed. She was flexible with the sorting, packing, and putting aside temporarily, as we tackled different aspects of the move.
Somehow it all got done. I had what I needed down till the last day. Lisa and a gentleman moved my last items to storage and she made sure that the items I needed for the following two trips were carefully labeled and placed for easy access."

“When I was faced with moving my family from 3,000sf to 1,000sf, I hired Space Cowgirls Organizing to oversee our move. Space Cowgirls handled every challenge with efficiency, expertise, and sensitivity to our family’s unique requirements.
They sorted items for consignment, donation, and disposal; took clothes to consignment (which netted hundreds of dollars!), consigned an old car and furniture, and donated other items to several organizations in the community. We especially appreciated their commitment
Through my professional career, I have experienced many household relocations and employed many different companies to assist. The integrity of Space Cowgirls makes them stand out above the rest. The Space Cowgirls were enthusiastic, trustworthy, and attentive to my needs and stress level, and worked to make the move as easy as possible for us."

to making the move as environmentally green as possible, repairing and re-homing any items that were not suitable for our new home, and recycling moving materials.
Throughout the process, Space Cowgirls coordinated with utility providers, post office, electrician, movers, housecleaners, and tied up loose ends with the former landlord and property management company. From start to finish, they managed our move in an organized and timely manner. We could have never done it without them!
Some life-changing tips
for your space
-
If you are struggling with whether to keep something or not, Use first intuitive thought or gut reaction. If you are vacillating for a long time whether to keep something or not, it is creating conflict inside. It probably means to let it go.
-
If a belonging feels special because it was a gift from someone dear to you, ask yourself, "Is this item lifting my spirits when I look at it, wear it, or hold it in my hand?" If not, it probably means it has served it's purpose and you can pass it on to someone else who might enjoy it. A lot of people fear the person who gave them the gift will feel hurt, it's possible, and in most cases people will not realize that you have let it go.
-
Removing something from your environment that feels lifeless, will generate positive energetic shift.
-
When clearing clutter I have found it helpful to use an inspired teaching from the book, "Eat, Pray, Love," by Elizabeth Gilbert. Her Bali Medicine Man explained to her, "Everything we have in this world is on loan to us by the Universe." This helped me appreciate the enjoyment I receive from my belongings and also be ok when their usefulness or beneficial presence has dissipated.
-
As we let go of our belongings, whether they are taken from us or are no longer serving us, we can thank them and send them off to serve someone else.
